Older children 2 years to 5 years

In the older age range, staff will maintain your child's diary through our record system. They will still record all relevant information; food, sleep, nappychanges (where applicable) However, once this information is shared with you when you collect your child. Again, these records are available

to you at any time.

Before your child leaves the nursery to go onto fulltime education, you will be invited to an informal parents/carers evening to discuss your child’s progress and the information in their “Transition to School” booklet.

This will be filled in by your child’s key person, using the information

gathered throughout your child’s time with us. You will be given the opportunity to add any comments to the booklet. A copy of the booklet

will then be forwarded to your child’s school to provide their new teacher with key information about your child to aid the settling process when he/she begins school.

The Toddler Room - 2 years to 3 years

At 2 years of age your child will be allowed to venture into the toddler rooms. Our rroms cater for children aged 2 years to 3 years of age with maximum 4:1 children to staff ratio.

The toddler rooms are full of busy energy as now your child will be able to experience a wider range of education, yet fun activities that have been carefully selected to stimulate their ever expanding minds.

With the EYFS planing and observation system in place the staff team will be actively encouraging your child's interests, offering them further opportunities to explore.

The Pre-School - 3 years to 5 years

Our pre-school rooms cater for children aged 3 years to school age and work on maximum 8:1 children to staff ratio.

Children learn through play during the free playing sessions. Children are encouraged to be independent and to make their own choices from a wide range of different activities.

At the end of their time in Pre-school the children will have increased levels of confidence and be socially interactive, thus the transition to full time schooling should be smooth and a logical progression of their continued learning.
